Our Services
Preventative Care
We work closely with all our patients to help them achieve optimum dental health, through education on the causes of dental disease rather than just treating the symptoms. Regular checkups and cleanings as well as proper homecare are crucial in ensuring a lifetime of healthy gums and teeth. Every patient receives individualized oral hygiene instructions as well as recommendations for the ideal frequency of cleaning visits. Another important part of our preventative care program is oral cancer screening. Every checkup exam includes an oral cancer assessment.
Restorative Care
Fillings may be required in order to repair or rebuild tooth structure lost due to decay or breakage. The goal is to provide the strongest and most esthetic filling, and the various options regarding filling materials are always presented. A crown is recommended for teeth that have lost a great deal of their natural structure, either due to large cavities or trauma or root canal treatment. A crown covers the tooth and makes it stronger. There are a variety of materials used for crowns which offer both strength and esthetics.
Cosmetic Dental Care
Veneers are thin coverings bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth in order to improve the appearance of the teeth. They can be made with bonding material or porcelain. The contours, alignment and shade of the teeth can be improved with veneers. We also offer a variety of whitening services, each one tailored to the needs of our individual patients.
Children’s Dental Care
Did you know that babies should have their first dental exam within 6 months of eruption of their first tooth? These early check ups allow us to assess dental development and educate parents on the best ways to keep their little ones’ teeth and gums healthy.
Dental Appliances
Teeth grinding or clenching, especially at night is a problem for many people. Nightguards (bruxism appliances) are a great way to help reduce damage to the teeth and oral structures in these cases. Sportsguards are important in preventing injury during sporting activities. We are proud to offer a no charge sportsguard program to all our patients.
Root Canal Treatment
Teeth that have decay or fracture close to or into the nerve of the tooth, or teeth that have sustained trauma may require root canal treatment. This procedure involves the cleaning of the canals in the centre of the tooth to remove the nerve tissue and filling these canals with a root filling material. Root canal treatment is often a way to save a tooth that would otherwise need to be removed.
Extractions
Sometimes a tooth may not be fixable, due to extensive decay or fracture or infection. In these cases, a dental extraction will be recommended.
Replacing Missing Teeth
This is recommended to restore function and esthetics and to prevent the movement of remaining teeth once teeth have been lost. We can replace missing teeth with implants, bridges and dentures. Thorough discussion about each option allows our patients to choose the treatment options that are best for them.
